About Almondo Nuovo Trattoria

If you are exploring the food scene in Turin, Almondo Nuovo Trattoria is one of those places that immediately feels welcoming the moment you arrive. Tucked along Via Giuseppe Mazzini, this charming trattoria captures the relaxed spirit of Italian dining without trying too hard. The atmosphere is casual yet polished, making it a comfortable choice for both long lunches and laid-back evening meals with friends or family. One of the first things people notice is the outdoor seating area, which adds a lively local feel, especially during warmer evenings when the streets of Turin feel full of energy and conversation.

Inside, the restaurant keeps things warm and authentic, creating the kind of setting where guests naturally want to slow down and enjoy every course. The menu focuses on traditional Italian flavors while still offering enough variety to suit different tastes. Whether someone is in the mood for a carefully prepared pasta dish, lighter healthy options, or a late-night bite paired with wine, Almondo Nuovo Trattoria manages to deliver a balanced dining experience. The selection of drinks also adds to the appeal, with wine, beer, coffee, and hard liquor all available for guests who want to settle in and fully enjoy the evening.

Another reason the restaurant stands out is its attention to the dine-in experience. Instead of focusing on delivery services, the trattoria puts its energy into creating a personal and social atmosphere around the table. That choice gives the place a more authentic character because the experience feels centered on conversation, fresh food, and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal in the heart of Turin. Visitors looking for a restaurant that combines local charm, relaxed hospitality, and classic Italian dining often find themselves drawn to Almondo Nuovo Trattoria more than once.

Had a lovely meal, the food was truly excellent. We started with crocche as an antipasto, followed by the tajarin alla Monferrina and umbricelli fave e pecorino for our primi, then grissinopoli as a secondo, all paired with a bottle of white wine. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The only downside was the slow service, we waited quite a bit between courses, which took away from the flow of the meal. That said, the quality of the food made up for it. Definitely worth a visit!

Let me say it straight: Almondo Nuovo is the best restaurant in Italy. Period. I’ve eaten my way across this country for five years, up and down. Fancy Michelin tasting menus, hidden trattorias, everything in between. And here’s what I’ve learned: a €300 Michelin experience will be interresting. A €10 trattoria can surprise you and be a very nice experience. But Almondo Nuovo? At €13 a primo, it’s not a « nice experience »: it’s the best food experience in Italy. Do you understand? The service is impeccable. The wine list is the best I’ve encountered in the country. And the food… There’s no other way to say it: it’s culinary perfection. Fresh, perfect, local. This is not a recommendation, it’s the sign that tells you: go now, so you can finally stop wondering where your favorite restaurant is.

Had a really nice dinner here while visiting Turin. The staff were friendly and made sure everything was safe for someone eating gluten-free. I was impressed with the gluten-free pasta — tasty and well-cooked — and it was a nice surprise to get both bread and crackers as a starter. Overall, a nice spot if you’re looking for gluten-free options without feeling like you’re missing out.

The food was very very lovely! All the paste could be done gluten free and there were a few dairy free options also! All desserts bar 1 were also gluten free. And the service from the staff was just superb! Thus highly recommended For 2 people the rough spend would be €80-€90 for 2 mains 2 desserts and a bottle of wine

The food was very good, beautifully cooked, excellent value, staff were very friendly and cheerfully tolerated my poor Italian language skills. Everything on the menu is, or can be done, gluten free (senza glutine). I had the tuna (tonno) with a side of trifolata mushrooms. The tuna was perfectly, lightly cooked. I wish I'd found this place earlier. Gluten free bread was provided. A wonderful experience for a coeliac.
